Explore the heart of Boston
As one of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston is
home to some of the country’s top historical sites. Located
in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, Fairmont Copley Plaza is
across the street from Copley Square and the Boston Public
Library and places you in the center of Boston’s rich culture.
After Fairmont Copley Plaza opened it’s doors to the public
on August 8, 1912, it has quickly became a beacon in the
social and political life of Boston, having been visited by
almost every American president since William Howard Taft.
Boston is well known for its many architectural wonders
and one of the city’s most storied buildings, the Old South
Church, is visible from the Copley Square-facing guest
rooms of Fairmont Copley Plaza.
This historic church has welcomed a number of significant
people in history through its doors such as Samuel Adams
and his Sons of Liberty, Phillis Wheatley (a freed slave and
the 1st published African American poetess), Elizabeth
Vergoose (aka Mother Goose), and Benjamin Franklin was
even baptized in the church in 1706.
Staff at Fairmont Copley plaza have compiled a list of
recommended activities to help you experience the area’s
most popular attractions and its hidden treasures!
