Alford is a small country town happily
nestled in rural Aberdeenshire with a
peaceful and tranquil feel to it. Skirted by
the beautiful River Don and surrounded
by the hills of Bennachie and Coreen,
the area is a great place to relax from the
hustle and bustle of everyday life. Alford is
home to several visitor attractions
including a museum, ski centre, golf
course and woodland country park.

The fine Scottish town of Banchory is
located approximately 20 miles west of
Aberdeen, adjacent to the magnificent
River Dee. The enchanting Crathes
Castle, a 16th century fairy-tale like castle,
can also be found close to Banchory.
For the adventure seekers there is river
canoeing, gliding, mountain biking, horse
riding, archery, quad biking and fishing to
name just few.
CROVIE
Enjoy picturesque village and sea
views at Crovie Viewpoint. The
shelf on which the village of Crovie
is perched is so narrow, it only has
room for a row of cottages and the
footpath in front of them.
ABERDEEN
Take a coach break to visit the ‘Granite City’ of
Aberdeen, a vibrant city that lies on the edge
of the North Sea between the Rivers Dee and
Don. Aberdeen is surrounded by beautiful
beaches and rugged scenery and is an ideal place
for a peaceful yet exciting break.

TURRIFF
Turriff is a small town and agricultural
centre 9 miles south of Macduff in north
Aberdeenshire. The largest annual event
to be held in Aberdeenshire, the Turriff
Show promotes Scotland’s agriculture
and food industry. Explore the variety of
things to see and do including over 250
trade stands, cookery demonstrations and
a funfair.

HUNTLY
Situated on the edge of the popular
Speyside whisky trail, the town of
Huntly provides a great base for
exploring the attractions in the
surrounding area. It’s one of the
area’s largest towns and is home to
some of the region’s greatest tourist
attractions including the ruins of
Huntly Castle - once a luxurious
residence of the Earls of Huntly,
one of the most important Catholic
families in Scotland.

BALLATER
The Victorian village of Ballater sits in the
heart of Royal Deeside, Scotland at the
eastern gateway to the Cairngorms
National Park, making it one of the
region’s top visitor spots. Arguably one
of Scotland’s most famous castles is
found nearby - Balmoral Castle. The
village is also home to cosy B&B’s,
restaurants and outdoor adventure.

CULLEN
Cullen, the birthplace of Cullen Skink,
sits on the Banffshire Coast in North East
Scotland. The Banffshire coast is one of
the world’s outstanding coastlines, says
the National Geographic. Not just for
its natural beauty with plentiful wildlife
- there are dolphins, seals, puffins and
other seabirds in abundance.

When arriving in Banff, you could
be forgiven for thinking you have
stepped into a miniature Edinburgh.
Highlights which give a nod to
the town’s historic heyday include
Banff Castle. Also, unpick the tale
of two Williams - William Duff,
owner of Duff House, and William
Adam, its architect. The two fell
out over money during the creation
of this splendid early Georgian
mansion, leading to a five-year
court case.

PENNAN
Looking to be inspired to visit Pennan?
Whisky Galore! was filmed on location in
Pennan. This village is well worth a visit
simply for it’s unique character.
